What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is the largest drug-free healthcare profession in the world.

Established in 1895 by the magnetic healer D.D. Palmer, chiropractic care began when Palmer observed a connection between the condition of the spine and overall wellbeing. He famously restored the hearing of his first patient, Harvey Lillard, through a specific spinal adjustment.

Chiropractic is founded on the principle that spinal motion and posture directly influence the function of the nervous system, which controls and coordinates the body’s cells, tissues, and organ systems.

Since its inception, the body of basic and clinical science supporting chiropractic care and its impact on human health has grown considerably. While there is still much to uncover, current scientific evidence demonstrates that chiropractic is effective in treating a variety of conditions in adults, including acute, subacute, and chronic low back pain, sciatica, migraines, cervicogenic headaches, cervicogenic dizziness, acute and subacute neck pain, and several extremity joint issues.

We encourage our patients to move away from the current symptom-based model of healthcare—reactive care that waits for symptoms or disease to arise before taking action—and embrace the emerging wellness model, which prioritises proactive measures to pursue health and prevent symptoms and illness.

Our holistic chiropractors focus on treating the underlying causes of discomfort rather than just addressing the symptoms, supporting the body’s natural healing process without the need for drugs or surgery. Our experienced team specialises in diagnosing, treating, and managing joint problems—including muscles, ligaments, tendons, and nerves—with an emphasis on manual therapy.

This encompasses conditions such as general, acute, and chronic back pain, mechanical neck pain, sciatica, headaches originating from the neck, migraines, shoulder complaints, joint pain, and issues related to tension and relaxation.

For many years, we have treated patients of all ages and a wide range of conditions, helping them achieve optimum wellness and improved quality of life.
